For Treatment & Recovery Organizations
Bringing Ablework Into Your Organization
A structured series of accessible movement sessions that complements holistic and multidisciplinary approaches to recovery by bringing guided body-based exploration into existing programming.
Recovery can involve more than emotional and behavioural change. People entering treatment may also be navigating physical discomfort, muscle tension, restlessness, disrupted sleep, withdrawal-related aches, or long-standing patterns of bracing and effort.
For people with a history of trauma, feeling physically tense or on guard may also be familiar. Ablework creates an opportunity to become curious about these physical experiences through gentle movement; to notice where effort is showing up, recognize internal and external support, explore different ways of moving, and discover whether greater ease is available without forcing change.
Ablework complements—but does not replace—medical, psychological or counselling care.
